Fitna in Deen - by Tehseen Khatib (QI 2016)

I saw my friend, across the street

Walking towards me, looking kinda weepy…

So I said: As Salaamuaalaikum! What’s up sis?

Why the long face?

She said: I’m feeling restricted, constricted, with pain… afflicted

My boss, she won’t let me cover

When I go to make wudhu, she comes to hover

She just won’t go away! It’s gotten so bad, that I can’t even pray!!

I’m feeling so blue…I just don’t know what to do…

So I said: Hey sister, wait up!

Listen up!That just might be a fitna in deen

A fitna in deen?

Yeah, a fitna in deen

It’s in the Qur’an, my sister

For all our problems, ALLAH has given answer

So I said: Listen up close,

so that you can take heed

Because here’s what you do with a fitna in deen

Step one, you don’t put yourself in grief

Step two, you simply get up and leave

Whether it’s a job, or a friend circle of doom

Or may be you just need to leave the room

But move, don’t stay

The only way, is to get away

Step three, make dua

Ask ALLAH for help

And believe in it, not just lip-service

Ask Him to guide youLike the youth in the cave

And then follow through

On what He shows you

Hang in there, be firm

But don’t look back, don’t turn

Step four, find a new place of good people

Else my sister, the fitna will only deepen

Stick to a jam’aa, that raises you

Then my sister, you will no longer be blue

So listen up close, so that you can take heed

Once again, this is what you do with a fitna in deen

Step one, you don’t put yourself in grief

Step two, you simply get up and leave

Step three, make dua, ask ALLAH for help

Step four, find good people to assist in each step

So in the Qur’an is all you need

Because that’s where we learn to deal with a fitna in deen

Dont be Sad - by Tahseen Khatib (QI 2016)

So young, and yet you have seen More pain, than anyone needs You try to smile, through-it-all But your face is cracking… From all the tears, Your heart is breaking You were free, you were brave Strong
