...And the Journey continues - by Mariam Arafat (QI-2015)

The next life-changing stopover was Surah Kahf, which constitutes of four enlightening stories and how they relate to the fitnah of the Dajjal. There are so many lessons to take from them and reading Surah Kahf every Friday reminds us of all the blessings that Allah  (سبحانه و تعالى) has given us and how should we make proper use these blessings: whether it is religion, wealth, knowledge or power.

Some of the lessons that I learnt from Surah Kahf were:

  • We should stand firm on our own Deen, even if the entire community is against us.

  • No matter how much wealth Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) has given us in the form of children or property, we should realize all of this is temporary. This is the true reality of life!

  • Our reliance should only be on Allah (سبحانه و تعالى)

  • With knowledge comes humility – not self-pride and ego.

  • Da’wah requires a lot of sacrifice sabr.

  • Realizing that Allah’s help comes when we learn to help ourselves.

The journey continues…
